The BDCB2864 coreless brushed DC motor is designed for industrial OEM mechanisms requiring higher torque and durable brushed operation, combining a Ø28 × 64 mm graphite brush structure with 6–24V winding options, rated torque up to 32.71 mN·m, and a 13–55W power class for demanding actuator and transmission systems.
| Voltage | 6 V / 12 V / 24 V DC |
|---|---|
| Power | 13–55 W |
| Speed | 6,497–6,675 rpm (Rated) |
| Torque | 19.63–32.71 mN·m (Rated) |
| Lifetime | 3,000–5,000 hours |
| Weight | 200 g |
The BDCB2864 coreless brushed DC motor is built around a larger Ø28 × 64 mm platform for industrial mechanisms that require substantially more torque than smaller coreless motor sizes. Rated torque increases from 19.63 mN·m on the 6V version to 32.71 mN·m on the 24V version, while all three windings maintain rated speeds close to 6,500–6,700 rpm.
Available in 6V, 12V, and 24V configurations, the BDCB2864 provides a 13–55W product platform with a 200 g motor body. The same motor can also be combined with optional planetary gearbox, photoelectric encoder, magnetoelectric encoder, or brake configurations when the final industrial drive requires additional transmission or feedback components.
The three suffixes identify different winding versions. Their current demand, resistance, torque constant, and speed constant differ considerably, so the final model should be selected around the available voltage and required operating point.

The BDCB2864 is a larger and heavier coreless motor platform, so the motor mounting, shaft loading, and connected transmission should be evaluated together during integration.
Shaft Load Limits
Maximum dynamic axial load is 2 N, while maximum radial load is 20 N measured 5 mm from the flange.
Mechanical Clearance
Axial play is specified at 0–0.1 mm, and radial play is limited to 0.015 mm. Couplings and transmission components should be installed with controlled alignment.
Higher-Current Operation
The 6V version reaches 24 A at stall, while the 12V and 24V versions reach 15.8 A and 9.6 A respectively. Wiring, connectors, switching components, and the DC supply should be sized for the selected winding and expected load condition.
Operating Environment
The specified ambient operating range is −20°C to +80°C, relative humidity should remain below 90% at 25°C, and rotor temperature should not exceed 125°C.
Transmission Integration
A planetary gearbox is available as an option when the final output requirement differs from the direct motor-shaft speed and torque characteristics.
Feedback and Brake Options
Photoelectric encoder, magnetoelectric encoder, and brake configurations are also listed as optional components for projects requiring additional system functions.
The BDCB2864 can be configured around the required voltage platform, transmission arrangement, feedback requirements, and final industrial assembly.
| Customization Item | Available Options / Description |
|---|---|
| Winding Version | 6V, 12V, or 24V standard winding |
| Planetary Gearbox | Optional gearbox configuration |
| Photoelectric Encoder | Optional feedback component |
| Magnetoelectric Encoder | Optional feedback component |
| Brake | Optional brake configuration |
| Shaft Configuration | Shaft requirements can be reviewed for the driven mechanism |
| Wiring / Lead Arrangement | Electrical connection can be reviewed according to equipment layout |
| Connector Type | Connector requirements can be evaluated for the OEM harness |
| Mounting Interface | Mechanical integration can be reviewed for the final assembly |
| Prototype Combination | Motor and optional components can be evaluated together before production |
The base motor uses a simple +Vcc / −GND terminal definition, while gearbox, encoder, and brake options are additional configurations rather than standard components.
The BDCB2864 is most relevant to industrial mechanisms that need higher brushed-motor torque and can accommodate a Ø28 × 64 mm motor envelope.
The BDCB2864 should be selected from the actual load and electrical architecture rather than from peak torque alone. Its three windings produce significantly different current and motor-constant characteristics even though the external motor size remains unchanged.
Germany | Industrial Actuator Manufacturer
Application: heavy-load rotary actuator
Feedback: The 24V winding provided the required torque while allowing the drive to remain within the existing Ø28 mm motor envelope.
Japan | Automation Equipment OEM
Application: indexing and handling mechanism
Feedback: The larger motor platform provided additional load margin for repeated mechanical cycles compared with the smaller coreless motor previously evaluated.
United States | Industrial System Developer
Application: geared feedback drive
Feedback: The available gearbox and encoder options allowed the development team to build the transmission and feedback functions around one motor platform.

A1: The three models use different winding configurations. The 24V winding has a higher torque constant and resistance than the 6V and 12V versions, allowing it to provide 32.71 mN·m rated torque at 1.11 A nominal current.
A2: It should not automatically be treated as a continuous operating rating. The 56.83W value is measured on the 24V version at 3,650 rpm and 4.83 A, which is a substantially different operating point from its nominal condition.
A3: The specification lists a planetary gearbox, photoelectric encoder, magnetoelectric encoder, and brake as optional components.
A4: BODENMOTION provides a 1-year warranty for product-quality issues under normal operating conditions. Damage caused by misuse, improper installation, or operation outside specified limits is excluded.
A5: Yes. The BDCB2845 uses a shorter Ø28 × 45 mm body, weighs 145 g, and belongs to the 9–35W product class. It is more suitable when axial installation space is tighter, while the BDCB2864 provides a longer 64 mm platform with rated torque up to 32.71 mN·m.
For industrial OEM mechanisms requiring a larger graphite brushed coreless motor, BODENMOTION supports selection around the complete electrical load, mechanical transmission, and optional feedback configuration.
